The National Association of Realtors wants to see a change in the way FICO scores are calculated due to the fact that borrowers who are not delinquent, yet have been notified by their current creditors that their credit lines are being reduced, are being affected negatively on their scores. This negative impact has taken another group of potential buyers out of the refinance and purchase markets. These people should not be affected by their creditor’s decision to reduce their credit lines due to a creditors decision to cut back on the credit they choose to make available to an otherwise current borrower.
